My family and I (my mom, brother and me) were in Lyon for a weekend, and we were advised by a nice young man at the Tourism Office (Place Bellecour), to purchase the Billet Duo - Lyon City Bus 2 jours + Lyon CityTram 1 tour, and we were glad we did! The City Bus tour (1.5 hours) gave us an overview and fascinating history of Lyon, and the tram tour gave us an overview and history of the silk trade quarter in Lyon. The bus and tram drivers were very nice and accommodating, and drove really well. Now we know the places we will visit in full when we go back. Lyon is beautiful and interesting, and the people are really nice.
Uneven Tours

The Lyon City Bus gave a good tour but the travelogue was difficult to hear.
The Citytram was a disappointment as it was very short, uncomfortable and the sound track was inaudible. The driver made us wait on the tram for 20 minutes to avoid our seat being resold even though he had my ticket. The traboules and weavers workshops remained a mystery as the tour only stopped once.

Thanks for this feedback. I'm deeply sorry for the inconvenience concerning the sound during the tours. Some interferences could appear sometimes and the audio system is regularly checked. Lyon City Tram can’t enter into the “Traboules” or some fabulous sites of Croix-Rousse. That’s why it proposes a first discovery of the district’s history as to give the visitor the desire to come back and immerse itself in this atypical area. Nevertheless, as it was technically possible, we wanted to make stop at the famous “ Mur des Canuts” which is on the prettiest site of Croix-Rousse.

We have used this type of service in other cities and found it to be an excellent way of getting to know a city . The Lyon bus drops you off at convenient stops to get off and explore the wonderful City. Because Lyon is reasonably spread out and also has some hilly areas the bus is a great way to get to some of the more out of the way sites ( eg The Confluences). The 2 day pass was useful as there is so much to see and do. Highly recommend.

Tour bus was excellent, if you want to see Lyon in a few hours, will recommend strongly. The bus driver were very friendly and helpful. And the weather was fantastic!
