Nice boat ride

I was on the top deck of the boat and getting excellent views, but unfortunately, it started to rain, so like most people, went downstairs to thankfully blessed air conditioning. The guide/speaker was a bit difficult to understand because he was speaking so quickly in both French and a heavily accented English, but overall, he was trying to be informative and funny. Not too much of a "discovery cruise" but a nice, short boat ride around Barbe Island.
Lots of things to discover in a very beautiful city

We had a fabulous stay in Lyon, a city which is definitely worth a visit. Buy the Lyon City Card to get free access to many sights, museums and so much more. As transport in the city is also included, the card is a real bargain :)
Pleasant way to see the City

I love a boat trip and this is a good one. There was an excellent commentary giving details of relevant architecture and social history. All the crew were really welcoming and helpful. The boat was well-equipped and arrival and departure were on time. The only thing I hadn't realised was the necessity of having my ticket scanned at the ticket office before going to the pier.

We took the free (included in City Card) one hour boat ride to Barbe island and found it relaxing and informative. We booked it through the tourist centre at the time we purchased the city card. All easy and straightforward.
River Cruise Not Worth The Time

On Tuesday afternoon, we took the 1 hour river cruise. Other than a means to escape the sun and rest our legs, this was a waste of time.
Unfortunately our tour presenter appeared nervous as if this were his first tour. His accented English was almost unintelligible delivered in short bursts and ending in midstream(sorry!!). So bad was his English delivery I understood more of his French.
Apart from the delivery, the subject matter was all over the place. I gained little or no insight into the history of Lyon except for a few unconnected random facts. Who cares who created the modern art positioned on the river bank?
Recommendation. Use a recorded English narration.
Throw away the current script and give the client some detail on Lyon and its history.

Thank you for your detailed feedback and I am sincerely sorry to read that this cruise did not live up to your expectations. The guide on board that day is in training, which is probably why he seemed nervous to you. Our job is also to support the younger generation and ensure succession! We are doing our best to support him, rest assured.
Regarding the content of the cruise, it is not a detailed guided tour, but a general presentation of the city.
I am sorry if the experience did not give you complete satisfaction.
