Almost missed the boat

Our family was running back in forth in the area indicated as quai Rambaud on Google Maps trying to find the boat for almost 30 minutes until I called the tourist office and they explained where the boat was. At that point the boat was about to leave and my elderly mom had to run for a while to catch it. We were not the only people looking for the boat and the locals who looked at the confirmation paper pointed us in different directions. Better explanations and signs are needed to guide visitors to the point from the Novotel/mall area. The tour itself was nice and the guide was providing commentary in a humorous and creative way. The Confluence district is beautiful in its own way and we were glad to have an opportunity to see it.

Lyon is a lovely City to visit. The people are very friendly. The Museums and Sites are very good. The food is exceptional. The transport system is modern, clean, easy to use, comprehensive and efficient.

It is worth doing this tour. It is informative and pretty, and not too long. Staff could not have been more proactive and helpful when the departure point changed due to flooding. I would do this again.

I booked this boat tour on recommendation from another friend who had a culture pass, as I thought it was part of the package.
At the tourism office, while well-meaning, they are not very informative. I thought this boat tour was part of my culture pass and I planned my whole day around it. When I got to the Quai, they said I had to use it within the timeline of my 24-hr pass. So I had to buy another ticket, which was fine but the ticket attendant was resistant as if it was coordinated well.
The Rhone was high due to rains so we went looped along the Saone. I couldn’t see much bc the rain and fog obscured the plastic cover. The tour guide sort of read some facts about scattered sights, but it wasn’t very comprehensive and other tour guests talked throughout the whole tour.
Also, I was told it was a 2-hour tour and it was only 1 hour so I felt cheated twice.

Thank you for your feedback. I think there was indeed a misunderstanding: the sightseeing cruise is included in the City Card but in fact, you have to enjoy the cruise for the duration of your pass!
Furthermore, all sightseeing cruises (except cruises with a meal plan) last 50 minutes. In no case do they last two hours.
I apologize for this misunderstanding of the offer.
Really enjoyable trip

Our guide was extremely informative and her command of language excellent. We would recommend this trip to anyone wanting to see a different side of Lyon. The new Confluence area of Lyon is very impressive (architecturally) and it is unlikely that visitors would see the wealth of architectural variation by any other means.
