Cheese, chocolate and wine pairing
Discover the art of gourmet pairings.
In a small group of up to 10 participants, guided by a passionate expert, explore the aromas, textures, and flavors of cheese, wine, and chocolate during a unique 2-hour sensory experience in the heart of Vieux-Lyon
The workshop begins with a short introduction to the world of cheese and wine, discovering the main families of cheeses (goat, cow, sheep), traditional production methods, and the key cheese-making regions near Lyon.
On the wine side, our sommelier introduces the main grape varieties and iconic appellations, helping you understand the essentials of food and wine pairing.
Then it’s time to taste: enjoy 4 cheeses from the Lyon region (Rigotte de Condrieu, Saint-Marcellin, Comté and Bleu d'Auvergne), each paired with a carefully selected white wine, revealing the full richness of flavors. With every pairing, you’ll learn how to balance textures and aromas, and how to recreate these cheese and wine pairings at home.
Enjoy a convivial break with Lyon-style charcuterie, paired with a fruity Beaujolais red wine, perfect for preparing your palate for the chocolate and wine tasting pairing.
Step into the fascinating world of artisan chocolate and its main varieties: dark, milk, white, and grand cru chocolates. Discover the origin of cocoa beans, the geography of the main cocoa-producing countries, the chocolate-making process, and the techniques used by artisan chocolatiers to create this exceptional product.
Next, enjoy 4 exquisite chocolates, carefully selected from renowned chocolatiers (Richart, Sève, Oacao and Valrhona), each paired with a red wine from the Lyon region or southern France, for unique chocolate and wine pairings.
With each tasting, explore how the combination of wine and chocolate reveals complex aromas, notes of fruit, spices, or cocoa, and creates a perfect balance of sweetness, bitterness, acidity, and aromatic intensity.
A true delight for every epicurean!
