This wine and food itinerary is the perfect program to discover and taste Beaujolais traditions in all their diversity, a complete experience full of intense emotions!
Departing from Lyon, we will head north to Villefranche, the capital of Beaujolais. We will start the tour with a stroll through the covered farmers' market. You will walk among the colorful stalls in a warm and friendly atmosphere. Then, just like the locals, you will enjoy a “Mâchon”, a traditional snack of charcuterie, cheese, and a glass of Beaujolais wine. You will taste some of the finest local specialties
We will then continue along the wine route, with its beautiful hills covered in vines. You will discover the variety of landscapes that produce so many renowned wines. This exceptional geology earned the region its designation as a UNESCO Global Geopark in 2018. Thanks to your wine-passionate driver-guide, you will learn all about the wine-making process and understand the true meaning of the French word “terroir.”
The tour will end in a local village, where you will meet a winemaker who will tell you about his work and show you his estate before welcoming you into the wine cellar for a tasting.

- At the market, enjoy a traditional mâchon (a traditional Lyonnais snack), with an assortment of local charcuterie and cheeses, served with a glass of Beaujolais.
- Wine tasting at a vineyard featuring four wines: white wines made from the Chardonnay grape and red wines made from the Gamay grape.
