Lyon City Bus
The best of Lyon on a double-decker bus
Your pass means you can freely hop on and off at any of the 14 stops to visit museums and monuments, or just enjoy a quiet stroll.
From Place Bellecour to the Saône, the view over the Saint-Georges district is stunning. Follow the left bank to the modern Confluence district, then head on up Fourvière hill, passing by the Roman theatre and the Odeon, all the way to Notre-Dame de Fourvière. The sight as you approach the basilica is truly impressive.
This guided tour, called 'green line' will then treat you to a bird's-eye view of Loyasse cemetery, where Lyon's most famous people are buried. You'll be passing by the old ramparts of Vaise Fort to the Saône embankment and enjoying the splendid sights of Vieux-Lyon, the trompe-l'oeil painting of Lyon's most famous inhabitants, and Les Subsistances... You'll then be taken to the Presqu’île, and Place des Terreaux, the Museum of Fine Arts, the Hôtel de Ville (town hall), and the Opera House.
This leisurely tour will take you across the Rhône, the banks of which are a popular relaxation area for locals, then on past the imposing façade of the Grand Hôtel-Dieu, steeped in history. And finally, the return journey will pass through Place des Jacobins with its lovely fountain, all the way to Place Bellecour.

We loved Lyon, but the tourist bus did not pick us up at the Basilica. The tourist office and the driver didn't tell us that the 415 and 515 buses were canceled due to the light show. We waited 2 hours in the cold. When we bought the tickets the person should have told us of the schedule change. The next day at the Musee de Confluences the bus didn't come either.

Thank you for your feedback and apologize again. This is entirely our responsibility and we are deeply sorry. This is why we have allowed you to repeat the bus tour the next day for free, on an exceptional basis. I hope you enjoyed the walk and the discovery of Lyon.
Friendly staff and good service
The guy at the tourism office was very friendly and helping.
He guided us on the places we can hop off from the bus to cover famous spots and also nearby places in city.
Appreciate the help!!
An excellent way to see the city highlights
We are a family of 3 and were on a weekend trip so we used the city tour to see the highlights. Excellent tour and it covers a lot, both information and distance.
We travelled in December and our advice is to wrap up well as the bus is not enclosed.
Had two stays in Lyon three weeks apart. We found it an amazing friendly city from the convenience of the Hop on Hop off bus to the food opportunities, particularly the Halles de Paul Bocuse, the boat tour to the confluence and the Confluence Museum. The old town was a delight along with the Basilica. Thoroughly enjoyable.
Lyon and Rugby
We visited the Rugby World Championship. I was surprised about the city of Lyon and the general relaxed mood there. Travelling without a car, the public transport system was important for us. It was cheap (17 euros for 72 hours) and fast. We loved the big number of small shops for almost everything in the streets.
Lyon is a beautiful and clean city without Graffiti on the walls, what a difference to german cities.
Great way to get the layout of the city. On/off feature really convenient to pace the day and revisit favourite parts.
Lyon is beautiful
Lyon is a fantástic city and your company was very successful to support us
Green City Bud

The bus does not follow the schedule provided by OnlyLyon or the posted signs along the route, and the bus cannot be trusted to arrive every half hour - in fact, on the day I rode, there was a gap of nearly two hours in the middle of the day. In addition, the spot marked on the map provided by the tourist office was the end of the route, not the beginning of the route, which was 100 metres away. It took us 45 minutes to catch the first bus, and we could only do so because the driver who came by at 11:00 (as the schedule said) and did not pick us up, saying he was not yet on duty, came back and found us half an hour later on foot and told us where to find his bus. When we got off the bus at the basilica shortly after noon, there were no more buses until around 3:00.

Thanks for your feedback. On september 2 , there was a bike contest in Lyon which forced us to change our departure location and timetable. In such cases we try to adapt ourselves to the situation. Nevertheless, some indications were put on our web site as well as the Bellecour starting point. Tourist Office always have our information and do their best to advise visitors as well as possible. We are sorry about the desagrement and hope that you enjoy the tour despite the changes.
