Lyon City Bus

The best of Lyon on a double-decker bus
Your pass means you can freely hop on and off at any of the 14 stops to visit museums and monuments, or just enjoy a quiet stroll.
From Place Bellecour to the Saône, the view over the Saint-Georges district is stunning. Follow the left bank to the modern Confluence district, then head on up Fourvière hill, passing by the Roman theatre and the Odeon, all the way to Notre-Dame de Fourvière. The sight as you approach the basilica is truly impressive.
This guided tour, called 'green line' will then treat you to a bird's-eye view of Loyasse cemetery, where Lyon's most famous people are buried. You'll be passing by the old ramparts of Vaise Fort to the Saône embankment and enjoying the splendid sights of Vieux-Lyon, the trompe-l'oeil painting of Lyon's most famous inhabitants, and Les Subsistances... You'll then be taken to the Presqu’île, and Place des Terreaux, the Museum of Fine Arts, the Hôtel de Ville (town hall), and the Opera House.
This leisurely tour will take you across the Rhône, the banks of which are a popular relaxation area for locals, then on past the imposing façade of the Grand Hôtel-Dieu, steeped in history. And finally, the return journey will pass through Place des Jacobins with its lovely fountain, all the way to Place Bellecour.

Lyon is the most pleasant surprise France has ever offered a tourist. It is a city of cheerful and kind people, with lots to do and things to see. The relaxed atmosphere of the city is in stark contrast with the unbearable stress of Paris and makes it a much more pleasant tourist destination. My only criticism would be the use of an app on the City Tour bus. The older tourists can not make it work or do not have earphones. The ones given by the driver do not fit into mobile phones anymore, so they are basically useless. And we are left listening to the explanations in a multitude of different languages when a quiet ride would have been more pleasant.
Lovely day

This is a good way to see the city. Getting off and back on is a bit tricky as the frequency of the buses is low.

Excellent ride through Lyon. Guide via headphones was good. Bus station drop offs were difficult to navigate. Stops could be marked better.

Wonderful ride in the city of Lyon. Very comfortable seating and great views. The audio headset didn't work all the time, a little frustrating.

I booked the tour online and wasn’t sure if I had booked the correct one. Someone from the tourist office called me back and was really helpful.
The tour itself was excellent and really good value for money.

We loved Lyon, but the tourist bus did not pick us up at the Basilica. The tourist office and the driver didn't tell us that the 415 and 515 buses were canceled due to the light show. We waited 2 hours in the cold. When we bought the tickets the person should have told us of the schedule change. The next day at the Musee de Confluences the bus didn't come either.
